Lucky Potterheads in Mikwaukee are finally getting this magical music trip! The world renowned ensemble, the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra is delivering an outstanding film and concert experience featuring the hit film, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. The concert brings the very first film adaptation based on the novel series from J.K. Rowling. This fall, the show comes to the Riverside Theater with a total of three performances. Catch this live music and film spectacle on its first night on Friday 5th December 2025 at 7:30pm. The spectacle will be treated with a world class orchestra and state of the art production. Cutting edge display screen and top caliber sound and lights will be in store when you see Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra light up the Riverside Theater.
THE PLOT
Harry Potter lives with his uncle Vernon, Aunt Petunia, and cousin Dudley. The family doesn’t treat him so well as they see him as a burden and a troublemaker. But as he nears his 11th birthday, many peculiar things happen like owls delivering endless mails to his house and magical incidents that came out of nowhere. Vernon’s unpleasent sister Aunt Marge had been blown up like a balloon and floated way up into the air! Now on his 11th birthday, Harry Potter discovers that he has been accepted to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardy. This is his chance to escape from his unwelcome situation with his family. But little does he know that there are unexpected dangers that lurk in the wizarding world.
The Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra was founded in 1959 with Harry John Brown working as its first music director. Ten years before the orchestra became a full fledged ensemble, they were a part time group that was named the Milwaukee Pop Orchestra. Today, MSO has become one of the leading music organizations often performing in major venues, including the Bradley Symphony Center. In Wisconsin, MSO often holds large scale concerts delivering a variety of incredible live music to music lovers, families, and guests. This season, MSO is led by music director Ken David-Masur.
